Motherwell Rovers had made an inauspicious start to the league campaign losing both games played and conceding more than a few goals. Therefore I had high hopes of seeing my team knocking in the proverbial barrel load or cricket score. My first look at the park however put paid to that. The length of the grass made me wonder if machetes should be added to the list of players equipment along with shinguards and strips.

The fear that the park would distort the result was further cemented when Rovers "scored" the opener after 12 minutes. A speculative lob was parried by Shari Johnston but the ball spun behind her although she recovered the referee, some 25 yards behind play, ruled the ball had crossed the line.

Livi redressed the balance when new face this season Fiona Gordon released Marion Leitch who sprinted clear of the defence rounded the keeper and slotted home. Jacqui Kane added a second 10 minutes after that. Fiona Gordon was involved in the third goal playing a good ball to Sharon Grieve who beat two and rifled the ball into the net. Donna Porter the added number four from 25 yds. Gordon then made a good run down the right to release Leitch for number five.

H-T 1-5.

Donna Porter added number six two minutes after the restart following good work from Kane and Campbell. Gordon and Grieve linked well on the left wing to let in Porter for her hat trick. Fiona Gordon again sent over a good cross, which Campbell headed home. Jacqui Kane added number nine before being replaced by Maz Pearson. Leanne Campbell added her second before Maz Pearson set up Fiona Gordon for a highly deserved goal of her own. Maz was again involved in the final goal linking well with Jude Forman who set up Donna Porter for her fourth and Livi's twelfth.

MoM: Fiona Gordon. (See above!)
